Welcome to the Puffin & Birdwatching Page !
Puffins are cool! With those big colorful beaks, dark soulful eyes and a penguin-like appearance, it’s hard not to like them. Puffins can typically be found in the very chilly waters of the North Atlantic, in places like Iceland and Norway. Lucky for us then that not far from Boothbay Harbor is the southernmost Atlantic Puffin colony in all of North America – Eastern Egg Rock.
“The puffin watching trip to Eastern Egg Rock with Captain Fish aboard the Island Lady is a delightful and informed wildlife watching experience. Audubon is proud to have our naturalists on board to provide passengers with insight into the lives of puffins and other Maine seabirds. “

Vacations begin at Pier 8 in Boothbay Harbor!
Captain Bill Campbell has been navigating the waters off Boothbay Harbor for 30 years. His first job was as a deck hand on deep sea fishing boats, and on the Squirrel Island Ferry, Maranbo II with Captain Bob Fish. Later Bill and his father, Captain Bob Campbell, teamed up after purchasing the Maranbo II and the original Balmy Days from Captain Fish.
In 1988 the Campbell Captains supervised the building of the Balmy Days II to replace the aging wooden Balmy Days.
Captain Bill's love for the ocean expanded to sailing with the purchase of the Friendship Sloop Bay Lady, and to fishing with the Miss Boothbay. Welcome to the one hour sight-seeing trips on the Squirrel Island Ferry, The Novelty. On this very popular trip you will see everything Boothbay Harbor has to offer. You will see lighthouses, sealife, the rocky shores of Maine, boats of every kind, and many other sights & sounds that make up the feelings people take home that you can only find in Maine, rain or shine.
