Bulldog Camps, situated on the pond's northern end, offer panoramic view of Enchanted Pond and of the mountains that rise abruptly from its shores. Complete privacy is assured Bulldog's guests, as the camps are the only ones on the lake. Bulldog Camps offers fishing for everyone whether you are a first timer or an experienced fisherman, you are sure to catch fish when you come to Bulldog. We have several fly fishing only ponds in the area that offer some of the best fishing in Maine. Fully guided fly fishing trips to these remote ponds is a unique experience for even the avid fisherman. We rent 14' aluminum boats with 6 HP Yamaha out boards as well as canoes and kayaks. There is no boat launch here, as we need to protect and preserve the quality of this pristine body of water.

Nestled in the Majestic Moose River Valley just 12 miles from the Canadian Border lies the picturesque village of Jackman, the town and surrounding area is well known as a haven for vacationers and outdoor enthusiasts.Just three miles west of Jackman lies Attean Lake which is recognized by the State of Maine for its' many fine sand beaches and natural scenic resources. The lake is undeveloped and unspoiled, a haven for canoeist and kayakers who spend many hours exploring its' untamed 42 islands and miles of shore line. The lake is home to countless varieties of birds and wildlife; moose and deer can be spotted feeding on its' shores, loons paddle effortlessly along the waters surface while Eagles sore overhead. In the middle of this mountain lake lies Birch Island, the largest island on the lake and home to Attean Lake Lodge. The lodge was founded in the late 1800's and today is still owned and operated by the same family heirs. From its' inception the philosophy of the Lodge has been to provide its' guests with impeccable service and care, enjoying fine food, a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable living accommodations, today, that same concept still applies. Many of our guests enjoy taking one of our famous picnic lunches and hiking to remote ponds where we keep canoes under lock and key for your own private enjoyment. Along any of these remote trails you are likely to see many different species of wildlife and countless varieties of birds.
Another favorite day trip is canoeing the peaceful Moose River where the moose and deer love to come and cool off with a swim or have a drink of refreshing water. On your way to and from our island you will likely spot loons, our lake is home to many nesting pairs and it is a great joy to listen to their cry as they call to each other during the night. Canoeists and kayakers find the lake and surrounding streams and rivers particularly attractive because of the many uninhabited islands and shore lines which just beg for exploration! Many sand beaches are found on the lake and because of so little public usage you can pick your own to enjoy a picnic, a swim or a lounge in the sun. Bird and wildlife sightings are routine and always a fun part of your day on the lake.
