Maine has beautiful, pristine bodies of water in which to choose from to fish. In the winter, try ice fishing Wyman Lake, or if you're staying at our Jackman property, fish Big Wood Lake, Spencer Lake or Holeb Pond. Ice shacks available for rent for the day or weekend. In the summer, from each property there are numerous choices of ponds, lakes and streams to choose from. We have a canoe on-site for our lodgers. If you stay at our Jackman property there are a great deal for anglers of every type and skill level. Its assortment of waters and cold water fish make it a great destination for anglers seeking a quality fishing experience. Open water season starts from ice out and continues through the summer and into fall (which is catch and release time - but still loads of fun)!
In the spring, after ice out in late April or early May, the ponds and streams produce some open water fishing opportunities that will have you scrambling for you favorite lure. The waters are cold and the fish will be closer to the top! As the summer sun warms the waters, you may need to troll the deeper waters to get your catch.
Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Lake trout, and Splake are the primary species inhabiting most of the lakes, ponds, and rivers throughout the area. These particular game fish like cool water, but that doesn't mean they won't venture up into warmer waters, searching for food. If you want solitude, then Sunrise Ridge is the place for you to spend a week - to get away from it all.
Nestled in the Majestic Moose River Valley just 12 miles from the Canadian Border lies the picturesque village of Jackman, the town and surrounding area is well known as a haven for vacationers and outdoor enthusiasts.Just three miles west of Jackman lies Attean Lake which is recognized by the State of Maine for its' many fine sand beaches and natural scenic resources. The lake is undeveloped and unspoiled, a haven for canoeist and kayakers who spend many hours exploring its' untamed 42 islands and miles of shore line. The lake is home to countless varieties of birds and wildlife; moose and deer can be spotted feeding on its' shores, loons paddle effortlessly along the waters surface while Eagles sore overhead . Fly Fishing and Fishing in general are favorites of our GUESTS ! For the anglers in the family, Attean Lake is home to native brook trout, landlocked salmon and lake trout. All of the species are replenished annually by the States' Fish and Game Department, insuring a healthy population. June and September are the best months to be fishing, but the serious fisherman can also have luck during the summer months.
In the middle of this mountain lake lies Birch Island, the largest island on the lake and home to Attean Lake Lodge. The lodge was founded in the late 1800's and today is still owned and operated by the same family heirs. From its' inception the philosophy of the Lodge has been to provide its' guests with impeccable service and care, enjoying fine food, a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable living accommodations, today, that same concept still applies.
Many of our returning patrons are fourth and fifth generation heirs themselves and we have no greater pleasure welcoming them back year after year as we also establish new friendships. Attean is the ultimate vacation spot for families or couples who just want to be together and enjoy life as it was meant to be.

WELCOME TO LAKE PARLIN LODGE !Located in the heart of the western Maine Mountains, Lake Parlin Lodge is a unique and unforgettable destination. Offering a beautiful lakefront Lodge with a restaurant and guest rooms along with our brand new cabins, our goal is to exceed your expectations for your North Woods getaway.
Stepping out of your cabin to head out in a canoe for the evening “bite” is a Maine tradition. Fish within sight of the Lodge or venture out to the many ponds and streams in the area to test your skills. Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon are plentiful in Parlin and casting a fly to them on a calm summer evening is unsurpassed. Although there isn’t an overabundance of large fish in the lake, you’ll enjoy the 12 and 14 inchers you’ll be catching. Don’t forget your tackle. Parlin is casting and trolling with artificial flies only. Sorry…the lake is closed to ice fishing.
This property is rich with history, developed in the 1920’s as a wilderness resort and stop over on the Old Canada Road (now Route 201). In the summertime, wake in the morning to the cry of the Loon and step out on to your cabin porch for a chance to see a moose passing through. In the winter, you can log hundreds of scenic miles on the Maine interstate trail system (ITS). Our prime location is directly on ITS 89, with easy access to ITS 87, in the heart of the best snowmobiling New England has to offer.
Let us host your Maine experience and we are confident you will be back for more.
